Persuasive Writing

WAL to identify persuasive techniques.  We had to figure out which technique they were using.  We had practised these techniques in the skits we created.  For example

They dress up like a scientist so we believe their expert opinion

30 Seconds has a slogan :”Spray and Walk Away”

The technique I found easiest to remember is Slogan

Identifying Bias

WAL to identify bias in a text.  We had to highlight the words that showed Koro Apirana being biased.  He would be mean to Kahu because he wanted a boy to be the chief but Kahu was next in line and she is a girl.  

I thought this activity was tricky to find where he was being biased.

The easiest part was the ones where it said he was grumpy with her.

Long a Sound

Term 2 Week 2

Buddhist Temple  

 On Thursday 11 of May Year 5&6 went to Buddhist  

 Temple. At 9:20  we arrived at the Buddhist Temple 

It was Raining and They stood there umbrellas so we didn't get so wet. Inside we split into groups numbers of 1,2,3,4, I was in 3 and so was my Friends



First We learnt about the grass there. If you stood on it I would bounce back up. We couldn't stand on the grass because it was raining. Then We Origami and we made lotus flowers for mothers day (DON'T TELL MUM!!!....)  Next We Went to a statue and pored  water over it and said these words "say good words" "think good thoughts" "do good deeds" 



As We walked into a Huge Room and watched a video about Buddha then The spotlight comes on me and I was a movie star (just kidding) we turned into bee's and birds and we write a wish and that wish come true My wish was to get taller....  I know I'm migget

Term 1 Week 6

Its Been a month since I have posted We have done a lot of stuff since I posted. We have gone to camp and we got given our badges and softball I got in!! At camp MERC we did lots of activities  Like rock climbing and stack em. I like stack em because when you fell you just were just swinging and you can do a dab then your up there. We Got the milk done and these four weeks have been good.

I was Learning to you the suffix ing.  This was very easy because I went to camp MERC and I did all in the poem. I got stuck when I ran out of Ideas because it was very hard to think of all of them. I could maybe Do more.

I was learning how to use my senses to make my writing better. I felt good. It was tricky because i could not think of it. It was a very long time ago.  But I think I did a good job.

Term 1 Week 2

Hello and Welcome To Year 6!! I have done my birthday card and We did a haka powhiri.  To our new student teachers. And It was great! We sounded strong We have also have done our 50. We went on to the field and we put the cones in the right area. Our class diver milk to classes. I think thees 2 weeks were good.

I am a wet day monitor for Room 27/9.  This Year i am in  room 20  I am excited for 2017 and i am with Mrs  Graham. I am looking forward to camp and house captains because camping is my thing. And I am gonna try get house captain. I want to get better at music and Writing.  
I play 4 sport Cricket/touch/Rugby/basketball
